Dikorfo or Dikoryfo is a mountain village in the prefecture of Ioannina and belongs to the complex of Zagorochoria of Epirus. It is built at an altitude of 1,000 meters on the northeastern slopes of Mount Mitsikeli. Dikorfo belongs to the Municipality of Zagori while until 2010 it belonged to the Municipality of Central Zagori. Its population according to the 2001 census was 66 inhabitants, who are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry and agritourism.
It is 38 km from Ioannina.
The area of the village is largely covered by forests, while it has a rich fauna. The subsoil consists of slate and limestone.
The settlement dates back to at least 1431 ('Little Jondila'), when together with other settlements in the area it capitulated to the Turks and acquired privileges, in exchange for 38 'voinikides', men in the service of the sultan's stables. However, fortress ruins and pottery from the late Roman period have been discovered in the area. Just outside the village, there is the area of Guva, a ravine with a cliff, where in a hole, home of wild pigeons, the inhabitants of the surrounding areas hid their belongings to avoid being found by robbers, who often raided the village. .
Due to these privileges, trade developed more than agriculture and livestock, giving prosperity to the region from the 17th to the 19th century. This wealth was reflected in the construction of houses, large and highly decorated. Dikorfo experienced its greatest prosperity during the 19th century, when its population reached 1200 people: in 1835 a Greek school and a Girl's School were founded in 1890.
Robbery raids in the early 20th century reduced the population, while during the Occupation it was looted by the Germans and 3 houses were burned during the Civil War.
In November 2008, the universities of Ioannina and Istanbul undertook the reforestation of the burned areas of the village. 44007, 130500, , , , , , , Language not found Language not found (G&G PropertyID: K-16560)
