The beach of Mounta, one of the most beautiful & unspoiled beaches of Greece. The beach of great ecological importance is also widely known as the official breeding ground of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta (NATURA 2000).
It is sandy, with fine blond sand, with clear blue waters and beautiful natural landscape. It overlooks the northern coast of Zakynthos and as it is located on the edge of the big beach in Kaminia, it is quieter.
It is only 7 'from Skala. Skala is one of the most popular and well organized resorts in the southern tip of Kefalonia. It is located 35 km from Argostoli and like the neighboring Katelios is a paradise for travelers and nature lovers. The most special feature of Skala is its very large beach with sand and pebbles and the pine forest at the back, which separates the land from the sea.
In Skala there are both natural and historical monuments, such as the cave of Sakkos, the temple of Apollo, the ruins of the old town and the chapel of Agios Georgios. Finds from the prehistoric period were found in the cave of Sakkos, while the ruins of the temple of Apollo with the magnificent Doric columns that still stand outside Skala along the road to Poros, date from the 6th century BC. The chapel of Agios Georgios was rebuilt after the catastrophic earthquake of 1953 using some of the ruins of the temple of Apollo.
